Join us for an evening of musical enlightenment with Yellow Crystal Star, Myceum, and Dick Hearse: A Discourse on Dickhorse, two touring fellows and one local that we’re excited to host at The Bridge.

Local musician Scott Ritchie will start off the night with some solo work, under the pseudonym Myceum. Yellow Crystal Star is the musical alias of solo artist Mark Billings, the Portland-based drone behemoth who produces an infinitely dense and all-encompassing tide of sound. Dick Hearse: A Discourse on Dick Horse (that’s the full name of the band) do “performance art-ish weird ambient / maybe posthardcore/ a little freejazz / freakout kabuki / noisy sociopolitical stuff.”

Due to the larger problem of the decreasing number of music venues in Charlottesville (and the narrowing of opportunities for various musical styles), it’s become increasingly difficult to host or attend concerts of experimental or noise music here in town. The Bridge is currently making plans to host more music of all types; this summer may be a testing ground for trying out bands of all genres and sizes to figure out how to make music at The Bridge the best that it can be for the performers, the audience, and the Charlottesville community. Come join us for the show tomorrow night as we kick off a new era of Bridge music with three awesome drone/noise-rock bands. $5 suggested donation, no alcohol allowed.
