Expressive Machines Musical Instruments (EMMI) Workshop
With Troy Rogers & Ted Coffey | Saturday, February 14, 2009 | 3-7pm | at The Music Resource Center
Expressive Machines Musical Instruments (EMMI) will conduct an audio electronics and musical robotics workshop for area high school students. No prior experience with electronics or programming is required. In an afternoon workshop, students will learn to build their own simple light-activated sythesizers and percussion robots. EMMI will provide electronic components and robotic percussion construction kit. Students will bring found percussion instruments, including pots, pans, mixing bowls, recylables, etc. for use in the robotic percussion ensemble we’ll create. Workshop will culminate in a performance for parents and community members featuring a robot jam session by students, performance by workshop participants of Lux Brevis (by Troy Rogers and Ted Coffey), and Study No. 1 for PAM and MADI by EMMI.
