Nectar Bats, Myceum, and DJ Hummingbird Feeder

Saturday, April 18 | 8pm | $5

Bridge paricipants of fanciful events past return triumphantly for a night of musical madness. Chris Balint, of last year’s Circuit-Bending workshops, will present a maelstrom of multimedia mayhem, along with his partner-in-crime John. Formerly working under the name Mondo, they’ve survived the harsh winter and rechristened themselves The Nectar Bats. Be prepared for improvisatory keyboard experimentation and circuit-bent analog video technology!

Myceum is Scott Ritchie, formerly of Clöeburner and erstwhile collaborator with Articulate Chewbacca and the Raquellos. His deceptively simple scenario gives way to a overwhelmingly dense and deep drone; he’s been playing some killer sets recently, and it’ll be great to have him back at The Bridge, lulling listeners with his massive monolith of sound.

DJ Hummingbird Feeder is the elusive alter-ego of Bridge Film Series Director and weekly WTJU miscreant James Ford; while his other sets range from drone and pyschedelia to soul and rap, this evenings selection will be a short-attention-span mash-up of bleeps, crashes, breaks and glitches; Hummingbird Feeder guarantees a much higher song-fragment-per-minute ratio than you’ll find elsewhere. Slamdancing is encouraged.

Details are still falling into place, but we anticipate another act and/or collaborator added to the bill at the last minute; this person may be from as close as Charlottesville or as far away as not-Charlottesville.
