Audio January: ItSpace

Saturday, January 20th - Sunday, January 27th, 12 to 3pm

itspace1.jpgPeter Traub presents a series of short peices made from recordings of various objects around the artist’s house. The pieces exist on individual webpages, similar to the MySpace social networking site; this installation will bring ItSpace into the physical domain in the form of photographs of the objects, each accompanied by a button. Each button will trigger a several-minute-long generative composition based on that object; visitors to the gallery will be able to trigger multiple objects simultaneously, mixing sounds to create new and unique compositions.

Wood - Crossing the Boundaries of Form vs. Function

December 7 - 23.
wood_bomb1.jpg This December Zack Worrell will be curating a group exhibition of collected works crafted by local and regional artists whose works focus on the use of wood as their primary medium. The collection will include furniture, sculpture, lighting, installations, and other works which are crafted from wood using a variety of traditional and non-traditional practices and techniques. The exhibit will illustrate how this ancient material allows for the creation of forms that range from conceptual to functional. Wood has always been a material with two identities, one that is of utilitarian need, the other as a medium of expression and communication. This exhibit will explore the dynamics of both, and possibly reveal new ones that allow us to rethink how this material may be used in the future.

Opening Reception for the artists, Friday December 7th from 6 to 8 PM.
Gallery Hours 12:00 to 3PM Thursday-Sunday
